Shalisa Alba

I’m a Jersey Girl, born and bred on the southern shore, sharing thoughts from a perspective that’s expressively blunt, quick-witted, and socially critical. As I continue to collaborate with influential figures and study for my Master’s degree in Social Work, I’ve become a quiet storm — a natural born storyteller living the life of a young entrepreneur on the rise. As a Senior Contributing Ghostwriter at WritersBlok, I’m convinced it’s my robust imagination and firm belief systems that keep clients excited to partner with me.

(Ghost)Writing formal documents for family and friends through adolescence into adulthood, along the way, I graduated from Syracuse University in 2013 with a B.A. in Psychology. After busting my butt in service of others as a waitress, quality assurance specialist, life insurance salesperson, and holding a few other odd jobs in between, I ascended into the honorable position of a friendly voice, written and spoken, on behalf of the United States Federal Government as an Internal Revenue Service Contact Representative. It was at the IRS where I honed the communication skills necessary to speak for the brands and public personalities I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with since joining WritersBlok in 2019. Aside from a few stages, select boardrooms, and Amazon bookshelves, my work has appeared in such publications as Forbes, Entrepreneur Magazine, Blavity, and Bleu Magazine.

Throughout my life, my superpower has evidently been my personality type. According to the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®), I’m a natural mediator who was destined to become a writer. Coincidentally, my astrological birth chart backs up this information as well. I recognize how my rich inner life, intuitive curiosity, and propensity to readily empathize with others has allowed me to become the quiet leader and ghost I presently am. With the evolution of my career, I hope to provide holistic wellness services to underserved communities as a mental health professional and later occupy executive-level entertainment positions in TV & film. Bringing forth widespread social change through angel investing and global philanthropy is also a dream of mine.
